You may have noticed that our blog is a couple days off its regular Wednesday post time, and that is quite on purpose this week. Why? Because 48 years ago TODAY, one Larry Harris, a twenty-something furniture salesman, was hand-picked by Frank Chappell to serve as the administrator of Will-O-Lock Haven, what later became Willow Brook Christian Home, and what is now Willow Brook Christian Communities, a network of three campuses in North Columbus and Delaware. Happy 48th Anniversary, Larry! You have grown up with Willow Brook and could write a book with all you have seen (and we hope you do!). Thank you for your committed and inspiring leadership all these years, and for making Willow Brook what it is today.
In celebration, we’ve pulled a few photos from the archives. Enjoy this mini look back at Larry through the years. (*Hover over the photos to read the caption, and click on the photos to view them in full).
Finally, Babbling Brook readers, we would love to hear from you in the comments or via our Letters for Larry campaign. We’re gathering notes, cards, and greetings to gift Larry with, upon his retirement. Notes of appreciation, well wishes, and thanks are welcomed! Here’s your chance to thank Larry for his leadership, recall a warm memory from the past, or let Larry know how he has impacted you. Residents, family members, staff, friends, vendors, blog readers—any and all are invited to participate. If you are dropping off at Willow Brook Christian Home or Willow Brook Christian Village, please give your letters or cards to the front desk. If you are dropping off at Delaware Run, please use the standing box near the front desk that says Letters for Larry or give to the front desk. You can find addresses for the Home, Village, or Run at the bottom of our website. We would like to have notes or cards submitted on or before January 20, 2023. Any questions, please note them in the comments on the blog or the Facebook post, and we will get back to you!

Larry has allowed Christ to guide his steps as he has touched so many lives. Thank you Larry
