Willow Brook Christian Village is currently seeking a part-time (or full-time) laundry staff member for the healthcare center in Delaware. Work hours are 2:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. 4 (or 5) weekdays and every other weekend (every other holiday). The laundry employee ensures that all laundry (linens, personal clothing, etc.) will be clean, as stain free as possible, and marked with the resident’s name. Neatly folding, laundry delivery, and placing laundry in proper storage areas are other duties of this position. The laundry employee should also ensure that the work area stays neat and clean. Housekeeping in care areas will also be required for this position in addition to laundry duties.
In addition, this individual will also assist independent residents in providing companion services such as meal preparation and cleanup, running errands, cleaning, and laundry or vacuuming.
Job qualifications include basic communication skills and knowledge of proper washing and drying of fabrics; ability to work most of the time standing and walking; ability to bend and pick up laundry and supplies of light to heavy weight; ability to work without close supervision; and must be able to perform basic arithmetic. Previous similar work experience is highly desired. Compassion and patience when assisting older adults is a must!
