I recently moved into Assisted Living at Delaware Run after spending 8 years in Willow Brook’s independent living community, and I’m very happy I did. I was in a lot of physical pain, but within a week of moving into assisted living, my pain was gone. I think it’s because the staff take care of all my meals, housekeeping and laundry, and I can stay off my feet.
I stay busy reading, watching tennis matches and listening to classical music. I know a lot of people here; it’s almost like family. Right now, during COVID-19, I am able to have visits with my daughter. We like to play Scrabble; it’s a favorite family past-time. I’ve found that all of the staff are very gracious and thoughtful. I don’t think you could find a nicer place.
What Their Families Think
Dad's biggest fear in later life was going to a 'nursing home'. We were doing everything possible to keep him safe in our family home.
In a time of complete chaos and crisis, we found Willow Brook Christian Village for our beloved Dad.
None of us had ever believed that a facility like Willow Brook even possibly existed.
It is a gorgeous, extraordinarily clean 'facility' in a pristine wooded area in south Delaware.
The most impressive point, however, is the staff. From the top, down and all around.
Management, nursing, aides, doctors, maintenance, cleaning, laundry, food service, volunteers, office staff and of course their loved by all, Activities Director, Connie. The best quality that ALL of these people possess is that they sincerely care about, truly love and respect all of their residents.
We often ask Dad if he is still happy there. He has always replied: "I never knew a place like this existed. I would never want to be anywhere else. How did you find this place for me?"
"My mother has lived in Willow Brook Christian Home's assisted living for two years now. I continue to be impressed by the care she receives every day. Every service is delivered with professional excellence, but also with heart.
Willow Brook is much more than its great meals, cozy, well-maintained facility, and attentive care from the aides and nurses. Not a day goes by when Mom doesn't get a hug or "I love you" from someone here.
Willow Brook has become a second home for our family and we are looking forward to celebrating my mother's 100th birthday with our extended Willow Brook family later this year."
"My mother is a resident in assisted living at Willow Brook Christian Village, and I can't speak highly enough about the care she receives there. Everyone --- from servers in the dining room and frontline caregivers, to the housekeeping staff and activities director -- treats her with love and respect.
When she began to have cold feet about joining us on a family vacation (she's soon to turn 99), staff provided the encouragement she needed. They even labeled her medicines each day with a personal note. She looked forward to seeing what their daily note would be!
What a joy for our family to know that she is cared for in such a special way at Willow Brook."
"Our mom, 104, is our third parent to call Willow Brook at Delaware Run home. When friends come to visit they are swept away by the beauty of the setting, the artistic appointment of the interior, and the warm welcomes. They often ask if there is a way they can make a reservation for their future needs.
The professional services of Willow Brook at Delaware Run are unmatched! With passionate attention to detail, compassionate, high quality professionals provide 24/7 care that honors the dignity of residents with more kindness than is necessary and more professional care then is required. Willow Brook at Delaware Run is becoming part of our family legacy."
