Willow Brook at Delaware Run seeks an Activities Director for the Assisted Living Care Center. Key job responsibilities include planning, designing and implementing a variety of activities for individuals and interest groups. Other activity related responsibilities include facilitating residents' meetings, assisting with coordinating the volunteer program, educating families and residents on residents' rights and responsibilities, resolving resident concerns, organizing the bus schedule for outings, composing the monthly activities calendar and newsletter, and maintaining files and activity documentation. General job duties include participating in staff meetings, following all policies and procedures, attending in-services, and performing other duties as assigned.
A well-qualified individual will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding organizational skills, computer literacy, and a strong passion for and understanding of senior adults' interests. Preferred candidates should have a bachelor's or associates' degree in recreational therapy or related field, Professional Activity Certification, or two years of experience working as an Activity Director, Activity Coordinator, or related position. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule with some weekends.
