Many Willow Brook residents (along with their families and friends) have fond memories of going to the county fair. Whether it was because they showed animals through 4-H or FFA, loved the midway or the Ferris wheel, relished the chance to catch up with all of their friends, had to see who won the award for the best pie/quilt/tomato/etc., or enjoy a funnel cake or some other tasty treat, going to the fair was something to look forward to…so why not come out this year?
For the second year in a row, Willow Brook and SourcePoint are co-sponsoring Senior Citizen’s Day at the Delaware County Fair, held on Tuesday September 20, from 9a-1p at the Top of the ‘Stretch tent. Admission is free for individuals aged 55 and better, just be sure to bring your ID since so many of you look way younger. ☺
Everyone is welcome to visit our tent! Come for the whole four hours, or pop in and out depending on what you enjoy. When you arrive at 9a, you will be greeted by free coffee and donuts, live music, and lots of friendly faces. There will be some informational booths under the tent, too, so plan on some takeaways. Throughout the day, you can look forward to a sing-along, Bingo, a fun take-home art project, visits from the animals, an exercise class, and more. EASILY worth the cost of (free!) admission. Oh, and did we mention—door prizes throughout the day!
If you are a Willow Brook resident, check with your activity director to see if any spots are left on the bus from the Village or Delaware Run. If you are driving yourself, parking attendants will help direct you and parking is plentiful.
A quick check of the extended forecast shows a beautiful day on tap for next Tuesday, so no excuses! Come join us, relax, have some fun, take in the sights and smells of the fair. We cannot wait to see you!
