Memory Care

Lydia and Paul were able to continue their married life together in Passages, and that togetherness meant the world to their family.

Memory Care

Taking care of a loved one with Alzheimer's Disease or other memory disorders at home is difficult for the most devoted caregiver. Sometimes it simply becomes too much. But making the right decision - about when to look outside the home, about where to go, about knowing the right questions to even ask - can be difficult and stressful. You want to know that the person you love will continue to receive the kind of love you give even when you're not around.

That's exactly why Willow Brook established our memory care centers at Willow Brook Christian Village and Willow Brook at Delaware Run.

Our memory care centers provide a homey atmosphere in secure environments where your family member is surrounded by new friends and family that supplement your own. Willow Brook's memory care centers are nestled into specially-designed areas and provide 24-hour nursing care centered around the person with a memory disorder. The rooms and halls are carpeted to minimize noise, activities are designed to encourage participation in daily living, and on-time medicine is administered in a warm, homelike setting with private rooms and plenty of space for personal furniture and belongings.

A secure courtyard offers opportunity for soaking in the sun, doing a little gardening, and other activies that supplement and enhance the quality of life.

Among the memory-enhancing activities are trivia games, music, cooking, crosswords, many bus trips, a weekly breakfast club, entertainment, crafts, all sorts of snacks, and group activities to wake up the senses and settle in the glow of distant memories.
